What to Wear (2026 Elopement Trends)
Elopement attire has moved away from the full ballgown. What works in Rome:
- Brides: slip dresses, short wedding dresses, and bridal pantsuits are all in — anything you can walk in. Rome means cobblestones, stairs, and hills. If you want the big gown, add a bustle or wrist loop for the hem and bring flats for between locations.
- The veil is your best prop. Wind + marble + a long veil = the most cinematic frames of the day. Even with a minimal dress, bring the veil.
- Grooms: lightweight wool or linen-blend suits from May to September — a full tuxedo at 30°C shows every degree. Classic black works beautifully October–April.
- Both: steam everything the night before, and do a full test-walk in your shoes.
